Big Ten Network to Offer Live Coverage of College Hockey Showcase Games
Two games to be televised live, one available live online
CHICAGO – The Big Ten Network will televise two College Hockey Showcase games live this weekend, the Wisconsin-Michigan game (Friday, 7:30 PM ET) and the Minnesota-Michigan game (Saturday, 7:30 PM ET).
Satellite subscribers will find these games on a Big Ten Network overflow channel (DIRECTV ch. 218 and DISH NETWORK ch. 440). Cable subscribers can view these games either on the Big Ten Network or on the cable system's network overflow channel – viewers should check their local listings.
The Wisconsin-Michigan State game (Saturday, 7:00 PM ET) will be available via live webcast on
www.BigTenNetwork.com and on a tape-delay basis on the designated overflow channel immediately following the Minnesota-Michigan game. Friday's other game, Minnesota at Michigan State, will be televised locally by a different network.
The games were originally scheduled to air on a tape-delay basis only due to capacity restrictions, but Big Ten Network officials were able to work out the live broadcasts to accommodate significant fan interest.
Earlier this fall, the Big Ten Network became the first new network in cable or satellite television history to reach 30 million homes in its first 30 days. The network is available through DIRECTV, DISH Network, AT&T U-Verse, Insight Communications, WideOpenWest, RCN, Service Electric and more than 160 other cable operators.
