Big Ten Network Adds Ohio State-Wisconsin to Nov. 3 Slate
Marquee match-up has national championship implications
CHICAGO – Ohio State's quest for a national championship continues this Saturday on the Big Ten Network as the Buckeyes host 19th-ranked Wisconsin for a noon ET kickoff.
The Big Ten Network's top broadcast team of Thom Brennaman, Charles Davis and Charissa Thompson will call the action from Ohio Stadium.
"We are thrilled to be able to televise a November match-up between two nationally-ranked teams and one that will not only affect the race for a Big Ten Championship, but a national championship,"" Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman said.
"We have reached distribution agreements with virtually every provider in Ohio and Wisconsin except Time Warner and Charter. There are a variety of options for fans to see the game. Unfortunately, those options do not include Time Warner and Charter," Silverman said.
The Big Ten Network is available on most of the largest cable and satellite providers in Ohio and Wisconsin including DIRECTV, DISH Network, Wide Open West, Insight Communications and Buckeye Cable.
The network will also televise Indiana-Ball State at noon ET and Illinois-Minnesota at 8 PM ET.
Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) will enter Saturday's contest as the nation's top-ranked team. The Buckeyes received 56 of 60 possible first-place votes in the USA Today coaches' poll following a convincing 37-17 road win at 25th-ranked Penn State on Saturday night.
The Badgers (7-2, 3-2 Big Ten) climbed to No. 19 in the coaches' poll after a 33-3 victory against Indiana. Wisconsin has defeated Ohio State in each of its last three trips to Columbus (1999, 2001 and 2004).
The network also announced that it will televise the Michigan State-Purdue and Iowa-Minnesota games on Nov. 10. Both contests will kick off at noon ET.
Through distribution partnerships with more than 150 cable and satellite operators, the Big Ten Network became the first new network in cable or satellite television history to reach 30 million homes in its first 30 days.
